Community Development and Redevelopment
The firm has extensive experience in the community development field, including work with the Entitlement and Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). During the past ten years, we have assisted local governments in the successful implementation of over 60 projects totaling $78 million in funding.
Assistance has included preparation of neighborhood conservation and redevelopment plans under Title 36, housing rehabilitation programs, public infrastructure design, downtown revitalization, commercial and industrial site development, and specialized housing. Such efforts have made significant contributions to the economic grown and standard of living in the affected communities. Recent clients include Roanoke, Emporia, Stuart, and the Richmond and Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authorities, all located within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
