Home Maintenance
In collaboration with the nationally syndicated cartoonist Gary Brookins of Pluggers fame, our firm has created the Housekeeping & Home Maintenance Manuals, combining clever illustrations and concise text to guide new homeowners and first-time renters in caring for one's home or apartment and in home management.
The booklets contain more than 75 illustrations to help explain routine maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs for inside and outside the home, general housekeeping and finance. They can serve as instructional handbooks for first time homeowners and participants in various housing programs.
The Home Maintenance manual is available in both English and Spanish.
The Home Maintenance Manual focuses on electrical, plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems. A section on Energy Conservation provides tips to lower utility bills. Common Indoor Repairs are addressed, such as painting, patching holes, and the hazards of lead-based paint, and another section mentions general Outdoor Repairs, including regular care for siding, roof, and foundation. There are suggested safety measures included, as well, that will interest the first time homebuyer.
